Union Hospital is nearly doubling its Emergency Department to accommodate increased patient volume and new technology. Hammond was selected as construction manager at risk to build a two-story addition, which will feature private treatment rooms, a triage unit, reception area, cardiac rooms, radiology, and support offices. There will also be specially designed rooms for maternity, bariatric, infectious isolation and behavioral health. Construction will take place while the hospital remains fully operational, with completion in the first quarter of 2016.
