As construction manager at risk, Hammond is working with Harrison Hills City Schools to construct a new 217,000 square foot PK-12 school. The building features two gymnasiums, an auditorium, three classroom wings and shared common areas. The school design also incorporates many student centered learning environments. The new school is being built on a 50-acre abandoned mining site that is being developed with new roadways, new school building, playing fields as well as future housing developments. Significant site work was required to stabilize the soils through the process of dynamic compaction. Three existing schools will be abated and demolished at the conclusion of the project.
