“The Hammond team was able to properly account for all work construction segments providing detailed, accurate accounting of all fund expenditures while meeting all established timelines. Their selection process of support vendors provided bully vetted bidders that were under their direct supervision which offered Akron Public Schools a beautiful and highly usable end product with minimal concerns. Hammond’s leadership and expertise during the construction of the Akron Public Schools Ellet CLC is considered excellent and well worth your consideration.” - Debra Foulk, Executive Director – Business Affairs
Hammond is currently working with Akron Public Schools as the construction manager at risk to build the new Ellet Community Learning Center (CLC). Design features include a new auditorium, three-story classroom wing and an extensive career tech program. The building site is located directly adjacent to the existing Ellet High School and stadium complex which is one of the only stadiums in the Akron Public School district. With the close proximity of many residential homes and a tight construction site, Hammond is working diligently to reduce impacts to those affected by ongoing construction activities. Our staff has regularly distributed information door to door of surrounding homes and provided cell numbers of our staff on site. The new school opened in the Fall of 2019, demolition and construction of a new competition baseball field continues.
