I am writing to express our appreciation for Hammond Construction.
When we decided to bring you onto our project during the design phase, we wondered what value you would bring so many months before actual construction. We had done our homework on your company and found that you had an excellent reputation and plenty of experience with larger projects which was very important to us. The competency and patience you demonstrated in dealing with architects and engineers during this design phase lived up to your reputation. The design options you showed us made our decisions clearer and easier. I believe that if we had recognized this earlier we would have brought you on even sooner.
Ours was a demanding job for many reasons. We were tying into an existing building. Our architects and engineers were out of state. The addition itself was large and complicated.
I'm sure that any job of this size has its difficulties. I have to say, though, that Hammond Construction acted with the church's best interest in mind. Your selection of Virgil Reynolds as job superintendent for the early phase of construction was just one example. Virgil's knowledge of our existing building and his trememdous people skills seemed tailored to our project.
You and your staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism even when problems arose that were clearly not your fault. You always stayed with the facts and simply went to work on the parts that were under your control. That meant a lot to us and diffused many volatile situations.
When there were problems created by oversights or personnel from your company you took responsibility for them. When things needed to be corrected or completed, we knew they would be done. Your integrity is the backbone of our respect for Hammond Construction. We have always believed that you dealt with us fairly and wanted us to have a great building. That's exactly what we got!
Finally, I want to say that we have a great deal of respect for Hammond Construction. Some of this respect comes from delivering a quality product to us. Much of it, however, comes from the way your company demonstrated professionalism and integrity in the face of challenging situations. Thank you.

Hammond was selected as construction manager at risk during the preliminary design phase of the project. Prior to beginning new construction, Hammond was responsible for demolition of a portion of the existing 8,000 s.f. facility. With that complete, construction of the new facility could proceed, including the multipurpose auditorium with a 2,250 s.f. stage and worship seating for 1,100 members. The facility also featured a full-court sport floor gymnasium and the capability for banquets of up to 600 people. A 12-room preschool was also included, with numerous meeting and class rooms, and administrative offices.
